If your unable to access Windows updates or other Microsoft related webistes this usually means you have the Conficker virus.
You can patch this by doing the following:
1. Go to your Windows Firewall.
2. Go to Exceptions
3. Check Remote Desktop
4. Go to General
5. Turn "On" Windows Firewall
6. Run this patch to remove the Worm.
